The League of Women Voters of Moscow presented a forum on “Public Transport in Moscow and the Palouse” noon – 1 p.m. Wednesday (March 11) in the Arts Workshop of the 1912 Center, 412 E. Third St., Moscow.

SMART Transit’s Dan Gray, along with Ben Aiman, gave a general overview of public transportation in Moscow, as well as talk about how it compares and contrasts with other nearby transit systems. They spoke generally about some of the bigger picture plans for transit in Moscow.

As the executive director, Gray oversees the operations of the fixed route and dial-a-ride bus services in Moscow. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho’s Master of Public Administration program and has worked for the past three years to expand the reach of SMART services within the Moscow community, modernize the transit vehicle fleet, update SMART’s technological infrastructure, and maintain close relationships with a variety of community and statewide stakeholders.

Aiman, who will be taking over as executive director soon, started his professional life at the UI in 2003 holding a variety of positions related to event production, facility management, customer relations and marketing .
